We are pleased to present a solo exhibition of ceramic artist Masanobu Ando starting from March 25 (Sat). The dignified appearance and gentle colors of his vessels breathe life into our daily lives. Ando’s works, which breathe life into our daily lives, add color with a soft air. This his third exhibition, will feature a wide range of works in various colors and shapes, with white as the base color. On the two days before and the first day of the exhibition, we will also welcome the confectionery shop Kokonotsu to hold a KOUSHU tea party. Please come and enjoy.
We are pleased to present a solo exhibition of woodworker Yuki Igarashi starting February 18 (Sat). His works are created by assessing the decayed beauty of trees over the years and carefully transforming it into something tangible with his delicate handwork. For his third exhibition at evam eva yamanashi, we will exhibit his new work, a display stand and a display shelf. The stand is made of iron, and the contrast of materials and the blank appearance create the space itself. The simple design of the display shelves can be ordered in different sizes to suit your daily life. A white porcelain exhibition by ceramic artist Choi Jae-ho will be held from 10 December (Sat).
In addition to moon vases and vases in a variety of shades and shapes, there is also a range of vessels and incense holders for everyday use.
The pieces, produced using various techniques with the user in mind, are comfortable in the hand and add a quiet touch of colour to the life scene. In addition to glossy works, this exhibition also features new works with a matte texture that wears a soft light.

京都府 綾部市を拠点とし和紙を制作。手漉きの紙は豊かな表情をもち、絵画や箱、部屋の壁紙として様々な表現の可能性を広げられています。和紙の原料となる楮の栽培も手掛けられている和紙職人 ハタノワタルさん。evam eva yamanashi 形での個展は約 3 年ぶりの開催となり、今展では和紙や土、顔料などが幾層にも重なり合いできた「積み重なったもの」シリーズや「山」 をテーマにした絵画作品が並びます。その作品からは、自然から得たもののうつくしさと強さ、そして昔から続いてきた伝統的な和紙の魅力を自身の表現で魅せる職人の技術を感じます。この機会にぜひ足をお運びください。
Based in Ayabe City, Kyoto Prefecture, he produces washi paper. His handmade washi has a rich expression, and he is expanding its possibilities for various expressions such as paintings, boxes, and room wallpapers. Hatano Wataru is a washi craftsman who also grows kozo, the paper mulberry used to make washi. This is his first solo exhibition at evam eva yamanashi Katachi in about three years. The exhibition will feature paintings on the theme of “mountain” and the “piled up things” series, which are made of layers of washi paper, soil, pigments, etc. The works show the beauty and strength of nature, and the skill of the craftsman who uses his own expression to showcase the charm of traditional Japanese paper, which has been handed down from generation to generation. We will hold a solo exhibition of glass artist Kiyokazu Tsuda, who has a studio in Nara Prefecture. Beautifully curved vases, randomly beveled glasses, and softly colored pieces with bubbles will be on display. Please take a look at the delicate handiwork in your hands. Photographer Rinko Kawauchi spent about a year and a half from 2018 photographing the daily life of Yamanami Kobo, a welfare facility for the disabled in Kouga, Shiga Prefecture. A place where each person is free to be themselves, respecting their individual ways of spending time and their happiness, how they spend their time, the space in which they feel at home. This exhibition will feature photographs of daily life at Yamanami Kobo and scenes from the production of artworks, along with artworks produced at Yamanami Kobo. Please come and visit us.
